A life insurance policy can help you give your family financial peace of mind if you are no longer there to provide for them. When you enroll in a Life insurance plan, Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage is typically included. Each benefit pays out a lump sum and can provide a safety net in the event of the unexpected.

What is life insurance?

Life insurance provides a lump-sum benefit to your beneficiary(ies) to help meet expenses in the event of your death or in the case of a covered accidental injury. Even if you’re single, your beneficiary can use your Life insurance benefits to pay off your debts, such as credit cards, mortgages, and other final expenses.

What is accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D)?

AD&D coverage provides you specified benefits for a covered accidental bodily injury that directly causes dismemberment (i.e., the loss of a hand, foot or eye). If death occurs from an accident, 100% of the AD&D benefit would be payable to your beneficiary(ies).
